[...] 13. ROJ TV in the Land of the Snow Queen 24 January 2012 / Mideast Youth Once upon a time there was a troll, Hans Christian Andersen wrote. This troll was the worst of the trolls, he was the Devil and the Devil had a mirror. It was a wicked invention; everything good and beautiful became revolting and disgusting when reflected by the mirror. One day, the Devil flew around in the air with his mirror, reflecting the divine sky but it was too much beauty for the mirror to handle. It broke into millions of pieces, some as small as grains of sand. They fell onto the ground, but also into the hearts and eyes of men, women and children whose heart froze to ice and whose eyes could now only see that which was unpleasant and evil. http://www.mideastyouth.com/2012/01/24/roj-tv-in-the-land-of-the-snow-queen/ [...]

iraq is something of a scientific conjecture at this point. something like an airplane in flight, in existence and operation solely by concentrated knowledge of the laws of physics. this scientific view of the region can be traced back to the age of enlightenment, a time of great cultural advances due to the formalization of a scientific method of analysis. likewise, the state of israel is similarly positioned as a state of "virtual" sovereignty pending the outcome of future conflicts in the region.

Hi Nasser,
The message was that even though I had lost most of my childhood dreams and discovered that life won't be filled with happiness and justice, I still had the hope and faith that it can get better, and we can have a happy ending - which is symbolised in heaven-
the last part was meant to be witty and said in a sarcastic way. In other words : even though we grow up, lose most of our faith and dreams, we have to be optimistic and face our hardships with a smile. :)

Historically, freedom of speech has been one of our most cherished rights. Once again, in this blog, media censorship has become an extremely contentious issue. The debate brings up such ideas as the meaning of free speech, the rationale for accepting it, the people who could practice it, and the rules by which government could decide what type of speech would be allowed and what would be constrained. As an advocate for free speech and social justice in public management, I think communication freedom is a social good and that more of speech for the social interest should be permitted and deserve high protection. Especially for people in the Middle East, like Kurdish, who have had the history of oppression, they should have the access to all sorts of public media as much as possible. From my perspective of public relations strategy in terms of building an era of open and global governance, I believe it is necessary for government to enhance national affairs and make it policies better known to the public based on mutual understanding and communication. Thus, censorship is a type of oppressing public’s ideas.

Our culture is created and maintained through communication, and that free speech is increasingly central to the process. Free speech literate citizens, thus, demand the most robust expression and communication, for it is through the freedom of speech that we create and re-create ourselves. And people in everywhere, including those in the Middle East deserve that basic human right as well.
