In participating in the Finding Bibi discussion via Slinkset or in commenting on blog posts, you agree to abide by these guidelines.
Embracing the right to free speech requires acceptance of responsibility for that right. While Finding Bibi supports free speech, we are not required to publish anything and everything on our site.
We recognize that Middle East & South Asian stereotypes and the issue of women’s empowerment can be emotional and difficult. Yet in our promotion of civil discourse, discussion, and debate, we must all accept some basic guidelines for a constructive conversation.
Privacy:
Remember that some of our supporters and visitors may be citizens of countries that limit free expression. No matter how tempted you are to do so, do not reveal anyone’s identity if they have chosen to remain anonymous. That said, anonymity should not be used as a cover to make unwarranted attacks on others. If we notice a breach of either of these guidelines, we reserve the right to remove you and your comments from the discussion and to consider further action.
Decency:
We will delete threatening comments or posts, including those we deem to be sexist, racist, xenophobic, ageist, or offensive to members of particular religions, nationalities, sexual orientations, or other sensitive associations. Three basic rules for avoiding this: 1) if an individual was born with it or forced to identify with it by their local law, it is not to be used against them; 2) critique ideas, not individuals; 3) abide by the Golden Rule.
Courtesy:
Please show courtesy. We are all in this together. We do not moderate posts before they are published, so please exercise responsibility in your submissions. Ideally, your submissions will be supported with evidence, reviewed for negative generalizations, void of any attacks, and specific.
With these guidelines in mind, please join us in building the organization by checking out and commenting onour blog.
